Wasps back on Track
15th December 2011
Following their disappointing defeat in Bayonne the previous week, it was imperative for Wasps to win the return fixture at Adams Park to stay in the Amlin Cup Competition. The hosts could not have hoped for a better start, when a mis handled up and under was mis handled and led to an early try which Nick Robinson duly converted. Wasps stretched their lead with two further penalties before Bayonne got themselves back in the game with a two penalties and a late first half try when Sione Lauaki burst through several challenges from the scrum. This was to be the last score for Bayonne as Wasps closed them out during the second half, with further penalties from the boot of Daly ( a huge 60 yard kick) and Robinson stretched the lead to 25-11 and in turn see the Wasps leapfrog Bayonne at the top of the pool.
