Saints inflict second defeat on 'Quins
07th January 2012
Northampton Saints inflicted only the second league reverse on leaders Harlequins as they produced a thoroughly deserved 24-3 victory at Franklins Gardens. Despite early pressure from Quins, a Ryan Lamb penalty put the first points on the board before Nick Easter was sin binned. Saints took full advantage of the numerical advantage to build a decisive lead. Despite early second half pressure to get themselves back into the fixture, 'Quins failed to take advantage of the sin binning of Sorenson. Saints defended ferociously and added a further try through Wilson to cement the spoils.
