Hawks down Eagles
15th August 2010
Hampshire Hawks spoiled Essex Eagles dream of a first final appearance in the Friends Provident T20 in front of virtually a packed house at the Rose Bowl. In murky conditions Hawks once the toss and asked the Eagles to bat. Pettini and Cook shared a profitabl opening partnership with Pettini racing to a half century, before the bowlers led by man of the match spinner Briggs took control mid innings. The Eagles target was probably 15 short of par. Abdur Razzak and Jimmy Adams got the Hawks off to a flying start, and with contributions from most, got home with 4 balls to spare before the heavens opened.
